"Wrong Street" is a rousing anthem, ever affirming of our collective bonds, resilience, and sense of hope ("truth will find the way," "justice will have its day") even as it starkly calls out oppression. I appreciate the direct appeal to assimilate unaccustomed events too almost dissonant for the American sensibility even to comprehend ("believe what you see"), a shock tactic much in practice at the moment. And the defiance ("if they think we'll turn away") and call to arms ("defend what's right," "seize the day"). Most of all I love the sense of community and family you evoke ("we take care of each other," "these are our streets, our cities, our towns"); how you characterize that in unabashedly human terms ("the neighbors that we love"); and the genius of the reclamation of our patriotism in its original aspect ("this is our flag, our country, our home, our future belongs to us"). The echoing chant "we'll never turn away" at the end is haunting, indelible. - Ethan Dunn
